Minimalist architecture and interior design receive a lot of criticism, with homes often referred to as hospital rooms, soulless, unhomely, cold, depressing... But is it possible to make minimalism more inviting?
Minimalist design is about simple and functional forms, clean lines, no ornamentation and a limited material palette, and it's in that palette that the style of Warm Minimalism can be applied. Where typically minimalism may favour concrete, steel, glass, whites and blacks, Warm Minimalism looks to replace whites with beiges and creams, incorporating lighter and richer timbers and stones that are warm.
