I started Jungalow twelve years ago with a laptop and zero dollars. At that time it was a blog where I chronicled my creative adventures and my love for color, pattern and plants. My style has always been wild 😛 🌱, and through my blog over the years I connected with a community of folks who were also drawn to maximalist spaces full of life, color, tchotchkes and personality. My wild style was not always embraced 😅. My designs were called “garish,” “cluttered,” and “tacky.” I was told that houseplants were “too niche” to write a book about, but I was not deterred. I just kept liking what I like, designing how I like to design, and making what I like to make. Now, twelve years later our #jungalow community is millions strong 💪🏽, we have a brand 💡, books 📚 and an online shop🛍 that aims to help folks bring good vibes home —because we all like different shit, and that’s what makes this world beautiful and interesting. We have also helped to plant over 80,000 trees for forest gardens through our partnership with 🌳🌴🌲I have bootstrapped the entire business, growing it slowly and steadily with the help of a team of (now) eight incredible women.
