Materials can play a huge role in how a home fits in the surrounding environment, and architect Lara Maeseele opted for natural materials to help settle their cabin into the woods. Externally, dark timber cladding and frameless windows help the cabin blend into the environment. Internally, that dark timber is carried inside to blur the boundaries, and concrete was used as a cost effect alternative for benchtops, vanities and splashback.
